Technical university TVET expansion and equipment modernization
Comprehensive HTUplus Programme implemented in partnership with KfW and Al Hussein Technical University (HTU) to establish additional TVET offerings across various technical occupational fields, providing technical and educational advisory services, developing and adjusting training and assessment materials and tools, creating procurement specifications from technical perspectives for respective occupation fields, and focusing on technical training of teachers to enhance institutional capacity and educational quality at one of Jordan's premier technical universities.
Jordan's strategic position in regional development and its commitment to becoming a regional hub for technical education required comprehensive modernization of its technical university infrastructure. Al Hussein Technical University, as a flagship institution, needed significant expansion of TVET offerings and equipment upgrades to meet growing demand for skilled technicians and to align with international standards. The country faced challenges including outdated training equipment, limited technical program diversity, and insufficient teacher training in modern technical fields, necessitating targeted interventions to enhance institutional capacity and educational quality.
Systematically enhance Al Hussein Technical University's capacity to deliver high-quality technical and vocational education through establishment of additional TVET offerings across various technical occupational fields, provision of comprehensive technical and educational advisory services responding to institutional requirements, development and adjustment of training and assessment materials and tools aligned with international standards, creation of detailed procurement specifications from technical perspectives for respective occupation fields, and implementation of focused technical training programmes for teachers to strengthen pedagogical competencies and institutional effectiveness.
